What do oral anatomy, chairside manners and radiography have in common? These are all subjects our dental assistant students dive into when they enroll in our Dental Assisting Institute in Colonial Heights, Virginia, for their certification! Our program offers you what you need to go out into the world and immediate employment at a dental office. In fact, the hire rate before graduation is at 90%, so odds are, with your dedication to the training and enthusiasm about working in the dental field can help you find the perfect job for your skills and abilities.

What sets our school apart from others is that in addition to a learning environment, you are studying firsthand the application of the basics by shadowing an actual dental practice. You can see for yourself how well you will fit in doing this type of work and if it is suited for you. This takes some of the guesswork out of wondering if this field is something you will take to, be good at, and thrive in.

Our experienced team will do everything we can to help you get there. You’ll be immersed in a 13-week training program with 78 hours of lectures and labs, and a 50-hour dental assistant internship with Dr. Tom G. Schleicher. It’s intense and rewarding and you’ll get a firsthand view of how it all comes together. When you complete the program, you’ll be well-versed in the following areas.

What You will Learn

-Understanding oral anatomy
-Radiography application
-Handling dental materials
-Clinical dental assisting
